The Compressed Illusion was invented by and added to Daniel Summers' program in 1994, where it first premiered on the Magic Island stage in Houston, Texas.

An assistant enters a vertical cabinet with her head and feet showing. The performer cranks a wheel which brings the assistant’s head and feet towards the center of the cabinet until they are only inches apart. The process is reversed and the assistant exits the cabinet unharmed.

Similar Effects

Compressed is similar to the Squeeze Box illusion, but uses a different method.
